What if I want a specific type of massage?

Our front desk staff is well acquainted with each therapist. When booking an appointment, let them know what you are looking for and they will do everything they can to schedule you with the right therapist.
Please remember that not all therapists have the same training, and not all techniques are suitable for every situation. Your therapist will guide you in designing the most effective approach for meeting your health goals at each appointment.

Can massage be used in conjunction with other treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and physical therapy?

Absolutely! Each therapy has its particular focus; however, our experience has been that a combination of therapies is often beneficial.

Are there times I should not get a massage?

Yes.

  • Massage is not recommended for pregnant women until after their 13th week.
  • Receiving massage while fever is present can increase the severity of the symptoms.
  • Massage is contraindicated with all infectious diseases.
  • Massage is not recommended when blood clots are suspected.
  • It is recommended that you check with your physician prior to receiving massage if you have low blood pressure, cancer or are under a doctor’s care for any serious medical condition.
What should I expect at my first appointment?

We start by asking you to arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment in order to fill out a new client intake form, which includes a health history. Please bring a list of your current medications and surgical history. Your therapist will then take you to a therapy room, where you may discuss what brings you in for your appointment, as well as any expectations, needs, or concerns you may have. Our goal is to partner with you in your wellness.

Are your therapists licensed?

Yes. All of our therapists are licensed by the state of Texas. We take our role in healthcare seriously and part of doing so includes up-to-date licensure and continuing education.

How long has Advanced Therapeutic Massage been in business?

Medical History and Medication Updates

The health and well being of every client is of the utmost importance to us. As such, we ask that you update your  medical history and medications at each visit, helping to ensure that massage is appropriate for you.

What if I must cancel my appointment?

Help us continue to provide quality customer service to all Advanced Therapeutic Massage clients.
Advanced Therapeutic Massage requests that cancellations be made at least 24 hours in advanced of your appointment’s scheduled time. We understand that unforeseen emergencies may necessitate the cancellation of appointments, but please be aware that after multiple cancellations within that 24-hour period, we reserve the right to require partial payment prior to your next appointment.
This partial pre-payment will compensate your therapist for their time. No refund will be issued. If the appointment time is rebooked by another client, your pre-payment will be applied as a credit to your account for use at a future appointment.

Client Confidentiality

Please be assured that we take client information and privacy seriously. Our therapists respect client confidentiality outside the bodywork session. Additionally, your e-mail address will not be shared.
